So early in the morning that the sun has yet to rise,
My little Sarah smiles at me with sunshine in her eyes.
She giggles when she sneezes and she gives a little yawn.
She wiggles and she teases and she dances ‘til the dawn.
And even though she cannot walk, she’s bouncing on the bed,
My early-waking, mischief-making, little sleepyhead.
She stole my heart a year ago and it is my belief
She doesn’t plan to give it back, the saucy little thief,
But dreams the sweetest dreams all night until she wakes and then,
She steals her Daddy’s stolen heart each morning once again.
