Is it Stephen or Steven? In truth, from the start,
No one’s ever been able to tell them apart.
Stephen Prouty or Brock—the confusions endure
Until not even Stephen and Steven are sure.
In fact, to be honest, most historians fear
They got switched at a Prouty reunion one year.
Folks were loading their cars; there were children galore
And they got the wrong Stephen behind the wrong door.
That’s the story at least. I don’t know if it’s true.
And the Stevens aren’t talking, so what can you do?
Is P-H the Prouty or the Brock? It is moot,
For perhaps he’s been both and yet nobody knoot.
To resolve this and all your frustration relieve,
Why not make your life easy and call them both Stieve?
