Maybe Other Mothers

A Mother's Day acrostic from a week ago...

Maybe other mothers get to linger in their beds.
Other mothers' children may be little sleepyheads
That somehow simply slumber til a quarter after eight,
Halfway through the morning while their mothers meditate,
Except, of course, I've never met those mothers anywhere--
Relaxed and rested mothers in these parts are rather rare.
Still, somewhere in this wondrous world, such mothers must exist,
Devoted husbands doting: "Darling, let me, I insist."
Ah yes, the mythic Mother's Day of sleep and sloth and bliss,
Yet I would trade it all for one sweet Sarah pre-dawn kiss--
........without a second thought, for one sweet Sam or Sarah kiss.
