When she’s bored and she wants to go off for a ride?
Does she skip? Does she jump? Does she run? Is she quick?
Does she bounce all around on a big pogo stick?
Does our sweet baby Annika pick up the phone?
Does she call for a taxi to come on her own?

No, our Annika doesn’t! She stays very calm
And she waits for her Daddy. She waits for her Mom.
She is still far too tiny for walking and so
She just goes with her parents wherever they go.

Oh, but don’t you be fooled by the fact she is small.
She is biding her time till the day she can crawl.
She has measured the height of the crib from the floor.
She has seen where the keys are hung up by the door.
She has watched Oskar come. She has watched Oskar go.
She’s just giving her arms and her legs time to grow.
Mama, don’t be misled by those gurgles and shrieks.
Daddy, don’t be deceived by those cute chubby cheeks
For when no one is looking, she’s getting in shape.
