Wedding Setting

Hmmm. David--I tried to put together ten or so rhyming pairs in the following. It's an interesting challenge but sadly, as you will note, pretty hard to make it particularly coherent. Oh well.

David Prouty--groom to be.
Depravèd, doughty? No, not he.
That is not his pedigree.
Cyndi, witty--fiancée.
Windy City--where they’ll stay
(If they do not move away).

Wedding list full? Some must go.
Letting wistful thoughts in? No!
Must be firm or list will grow.
Prattling teachers--won't be missed.
Tattling preachers--off the list!
Even if they all insist.

Mauling brothers—they’re a pest.
Brawling mothers—hornet’s nest
(Wedding planners get no rest. )
Steeple pealing? Yes, it should.
People stealing? No, not good.
Better change the neighborhood.

Napping flutists--they're a curse.
Flapping nudists--even worse.
Artists can be so perverse.
Nifty fitters for the dress.
Fifty knitters, more or less.
Hey, but what’s a little stress?

Harried, moping? (single life).
Married, hoping? (man and wife).
Say good-bye to stress and strife.
Healthy, worried not a bit.
Wealthy, hurried just to sit.
One just might get used to it.
