Family Web Site (to the tune of the Gilligan's Isle song)

I just moved offices and found this old poem in a drawer, unfinished. So I added Jenni's tale of woe and voila!

This is the tale of the family site.
We take a simple thread,
And twist and turn it all about
And stand it on its head.

For David, Danny, Steven too,
All love to ask, 'what if?'
They'll take the simplest statement on
A three-hour riff, a three-hour riff.

We all have got to make our point
No matter what the cost.
If not for the fearless site admin
Decorum would be lost.
Decorum would be lost.

We're bound to run aground with this
Uncharted flow and ebb,
With Lauralee, and Flora too,
With William and Anne, his wife,
Elaine, our star, and Janet and Katie too
Here on the family web.

The time when Jenni smashed her car,
We did our very best
To talk of fires, dwarfs and things--
Off topic, but with zest.

So when you read a title that
Seems innocent enough,
Be emotion'ly prepared to find
It deals with different stuff.
It deal with different stuff.

No puns! No jokes! No quantum leaps!
Let's find the inner force
To make at least, say, seven posts
And still keep things on course.

So join me here below, my friends,
Yes, help me, everyone,
Just seven posts that stay on track
To prove it can be done,
To prove it can be done.
