Ted and Kristin's Wedding Poem

(Dad posted this to MyFamily.com on Aug 23.)

Dearest Kristin and Ted, when the vows have been said,
When the thundering chords have been played,
When the cake is all gone and the guests have moved on
And the final fortissimos fade,

There'll be times when the rhymes come out wrong and the song
Doesn't sound like the song that you knew,
When you can't dance the waltz and the notes ring out false...
Of course, this will not happen to you.

You will live, man and wife, in a charmed afterlife,
Ever one in each word and each thought,
And the music will swell in sweet tones like a bell,
Never-ending crescendos...or not.

If perchance, in life's dance, there is stepping on toes,
Should you quarrel, remember one thing--
There are chords that love knows Mozart couldn't compose.
Love will still in the silences sing.

And though life in the choir can uplift and inspire,
If that isn't what some days should bring,
Just remember, the heart is what turns life to art...
Love will still in the silences sing.

All the poems are wonderful, but this poem really helped me today. (Not with Will, we really are still perfectly happy. hehe) Thank you.
