Charge of the Scrabble Brigade

Have a look, have a look
At my family.com-
The Scrabble board battle
That Bill waged with Mom.
With Bingos and triples
That volleyed and thundered.
He scored three-ninety
But she scored six hundred.

Never was there such a score,
Whence came those points galore?
Everyone wondered.
Look at the words they played.
Was Bill at all dismayed?
Not though he often strayed,
Stumbled and blundered
Close to the triple score,
Opened the board up more
Yet he could not ignore
His mother's six hundred.

Bingos to right of him,
Bingos to left of him,
Bingos in front of him
Volleyed and thundered.
What letters does he choose?
4 i's, the rest all u's.
How can he help but lose
Facing six hundred?

Stormed at with Z and Q,
Words that nobody knew,
What does brave William do,
Shatter'd and sunder'd?
Courage Bill doesn't lack.
With nothing in his rack,
Flings words like 'snailing' back
Under the wild attack
Of her six hundred.

She draws three blanks and more.
She's got all esses four.
Two x's push her score
Up to six hundred.
His not to question why
Her score has climbed so high,
But at her second 'xi',
Surely he wondered.
Bingos to right of him,
Bingos to left of him,
Bingos in front of him
Volleyed and thundered.

'Cozens' and 'wirings' fell,
Boldly he played, and well,
But what was he to do
With 'jun' and 'retinue'?
('Lek', 'clavers', 'quiets' too)
Stormed at with shot and shell,
Into the mouth of hell,
At least he lived to tell
Of her six hundred.

When can his glory fade?
O the wild game they played
On the web site displayed
As we all wondered.
Honor the Bingos made.
Honor to Bill be paid,
Unbowed and unafraid,
Defying six hundred.
