I'm posting some of the previous posts to give you context for Dad's poem. I'm too lazy to give you the context for Katie's original Fri-chik comments:

Oh! The horror! It JUST can't be true!

It's only good when "doctored" into some other form--like that Prouty oriental casserole w/ the chestnuts that's served over rice.

Let this message now be clear
To the huddled masses near.
Let us not dissimulate,
Befog, becloud, or obfuscate:
Katie loathes, abhors, despises,
In its myriad disguises,
All chopped up or on a stick…
Fri-Chik.
Were it in a casserole,
In a stew or in a bowl,
Insofar as I can tell,
She would still not deign to smell
(Indisposed or deathly sick)...
Fri-Chik.
Seems to think it quite obscene
Eating textured soy protein.
Were she facing slow starvation,
In the depths of desperation,
Katie Sheffield wouldn’t pick...
Fri-Chik.
(Heretic!)

Hurrah! My very very own poem! On a subject dear to my heart, too.
